Prized Gem

From the moment we walked in to a super thoughtful gift of local wine and snacks, we felt at home in this beautiful cabin. The river in the back was the icing on the cake and our dog couldn't get enough of jumping in despite the cold tempertature. Loved the extra touch of Christmas decorations throughout the cabin. Another great thing, is we were able to go to all the nearby towns as they were fairly close by. Also the winery was about 5 minutes away with spectacular views. Hot tub and hanging on the deck was great. I'm sure it would be terrific in the summer. Host reached out to make sure everything was going well. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Prized Gem with our small dog for a weekend trip to Helen. The process to book through Georgia Mountain Rentals was easy, and the communication was exceptional. They were always quick to respond to me, and even called to check in on us while we were there. The cabin is very nice and cozy, and the area was quiet (other than acorns dropping from the trees onto the roof, haha). It was also super clean. There were plenty of towels and washcloths for us and plates and silverware if you need it. The bed was comfy. The tub and shower were AMAZING and the lighting options were really cool! I need that tub in my house! We did not use the sauna or the hot tub, but they’re there if you need them. The back porch was a nice space to get some fresh air. I really liked that it had a fenced in area for your dog, but one thing I would note is that there is no grass in this area – it was primarily rock, dirt, and thousands of acorns. I know some dogs can be a little picky about surfaces that they will go potty on, so FYI for anyone who's dog is picky about this. We did take our dog for a short walk up the street a couple of times. I would like to see some grass in this area next time. There was also a fire pit area outside and a little fire pit on the back porch, too – we didn’t use them, but on a cool night, it would be really nice. The location is rural, we had no cell signal here, but the cabin does have free WiFi. The cabin is about a 30 minute drive to Helen, and 40-45 minutes to Anna Ruby Falls. One other thing I would note is that you may want to bring a charging adapter for your devices, especially if you have several of them to charge. I did not think about this when I packed, and I had to look around for a place to charge my phone. There is a USB port on each of the lamps on the bedside tables, so I got lucky! This cabin was truly a “gem,” and we would not hesitate to stay

My husband and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary here. Everything was as pictured and described. The cabin and grounds were both gorgeous.Helen was only about 20 minutes away with lots to do there. Lake Chatuge was about 45 minutes away and worth the drive to see beautiful lake views of the mountains of both Georgia and North Carolina. Ton of hiking trails and falls near. We would highly recommend. We’ve had several friends also asked details. Georgia Mountain Rentals were excellent. They checked in on us to make sure all of our needs were met.

This was our first time in Northern Georgia, and we couldn’t have picked a better place. The amenities were on point to include everything needed in the kitchen, a grill, chairs, towel’s- everything we could ask for..
