Eagles Nest

The cabin was peaceful, but the lack of attention to the porch left a bad taste. The deck was “covered” in yellow pollen. It looks like for a very very long time. There was goo under the grill. The patio table & chairs were covered in yellow pollen. I had to clean the porch to even partially enjoy it. It’s a shame because the outdoor spaces have so much potential and they are missing the mark. No seating at all on the front porch. No seating for the fire pit anywhere available. I guess people just stand there or sit on the dirt? When we opened the windows to enjoy the fresh mountain air the window sills were full of dead bugs, leaves, spider webs and all types of debris that would have flown in with the wind so we didn’t get to enjoy that either. The quality of the products was as low as you can get. Think single ply TP and the cheapest paper towels on the market. If you’re used to finer products bring your own. Also, I’ve never seen such bare necessaries in a rental property. VERY basic. I’ve rented a lot of Vrbo properties her and in Europe and this was just missing any sort of special touch. The view, nature sounds and hot tub all get 5 stars. Personally I wanted to enjoy the outdoor spaces but the lack of comfort and cleanliness severely limited that part of my expectations. If that could be rectified I would rent this property again.

We had an amazing weekend at Eagles Nest. Even before our trip began, GA Mountain Rentals called to make sure we had received the information necessary to get till to the cabin and ask if we had any questions. We did have one small issue with the hot tub that we called the after hours line for but we were immediately able to call them back to let them know that we had resolved the issue ourselves. Someone showed up at our door the next morning with a bottle of wine to thank us for saving them the trip the night before. This company knows about customer service! The cabin was clean and awesome as well. Highly recommend!

We always enjoy going to the mountains to spend time with family and friends hiking and visiting wineries. Our favorite part is sitting and talking and enjoying the Mountain View. There was not a Mountain View at this location. It was obscured by the the overgrowth of trees. That was very unfortunate because from the upstairs bedroom, you could see the view we were missing.

Very nice house with a cabin feel inside. Clean and comfortable.
The internet is shaky, but were able to stream through my sons phone when it wasn’t working. It has a large screened in porch with a hot tub which was enjoyable. The trees do need to be topped to be able to take in the beautiful view they have. Overall is was a good place to stay and close to Helen.

After driving a couple miles down dirt rd. (passing a little waterfall along the way), we arrived at our little slice of paradise. Would suggest just a few things to make the stay even more enjoyable for future guest...add some flood lights to back of house for better security and lighting, put up some window treatments/blinds to bedroom windows/doors, add an ottoman or recliners to living room to up the level of comfort, and kitchen could be a little better stocked. Hot tub was a nice relaxing plus with beautiful views. Was nice having separate baths for all the bedrooms (which all had comfy beds). Close proximity to Helen and Anna Ruby Falls. Rental company has great communication and ensures your satisfied with your stay! Would stay again!

We stayed in this Cabin for 3 nights in October for Octoberfest in Helen. The cabin was just as described, beautiful, clean, and generally well-maintained. For us, with 2 young children, it was nice to be able to get away from the crowds and activities in town. The roads to the property are dirt/gravel but I was able to navigate them in a Nissan Altima (2-WD) but it was bumpy ;-)
Cons:
I will say that the view would be greatly improved on the back with some of the growth trimmed. Small bushes and trees have grown so the view is obstructed. Also, the upstairs and second beds were very firm. There were some cheap appliances (the coffee maker was awful). And outdated fixtures were mentioned in other reviews but they didn't bother us much.
The TV in the living room had a Roku connected which was great. The other bedrooms had cable boxes, which was also fine. But the TV upstairs should be replaced. It is tiny and old. AND the internet speed is terrible so do not plan on doing any work or uploading any photos on it; we literally disconnected because our phones were faster.
There were several notices to make sure to not put trash outside and to call the office. When I did they said to just keep it inside until there were more than 2 bags. This wasn't a problem for us but I can imagine it could be if you had thrown away any food.

Great cabin in very private location close to town. Cabin was spacious and very clean. Big bedrooms and comfortable bed. Kitchen was stocked with anything you might need and plenty of linens for the bathroom. Lots of deer and turkey around property. Great stay and would stay again.

All in all, we really enjoyed the place. The beds were comfortable, the place was incredibly spacious, the view was beautiful, especially at sunrise and sunset, the screened-in deck was peaceful. You’ll have the basic equipment to prepare a meal, but be sure to bring your own meat thermometer, seasonings, and coffee.

The only issue we ran into was with the hot tub, which— works absolutely perfectly, but you have to know the secret: the “lightbulb” button operates the jets, and the “Down” button controls both the Up and Down temperatures. So, in order to get the temperature to go up, you’ll need to press the down button a few times... if the temperature starts going down, don’t worry... wait until the numbers stop blinking, and begin pressing the button again, and it will cycle back up. I was informed that the only reason the control panel had not been replaced yet was because it was on back-order due to Covid and import problems. The tub was perfectly clean, I didn’t notice any mold. It seats 4 people comfortably, probably 6-8 if you had to squeeze.

Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer (and know the hot tub secret sooner). Thank you to the maintenance man and friendly staff who came out almost right away.

This is a beautiful cabin with the most stunning Mountain Views! No complaints about the house or furniture or cleanliness. It was a bit treacherous getting to the cabin. Roads were rough, one was washing out, and one lane in places. My only complaint about the cabin is that the amenities are in poor shape. Pots, pans, toaster, flatware, etc are all in need of being replaced. They are old and do not match this beautiful cabin. The tv in the living room shows green, and you can’t adjust it because the remote is broken. For a home of this quality, these details should not be overlooked, as they can make or break a guests opinion of their stay. The screened in back porch with hot tub and stunning Mountain View was our favorite part of this cabin. A solid 4 out of 5 for us. Would book again.

I can’t say enough about how absolutely wonderful this rental is. It is perfect for a family or a few couples offering privacy , plenty of room and everything you could possibly need for a stay. You do need to bring all your own condiments, I think because of Covid there’s no extraneous food lying around. The house was impeccably clean!The office was so attentive when I called needing some help with the hot tub they came up within 10 minutes, The view absolutely wonderful, the location near to Helen but you feel like you’re completely alone. I don’t wanna say too much because I don’t want it rented out for the next time I want it I will be staying again. Thank you to everyone and Georgia mountain rentals for a magnificent stay

Check in time starts at 4p which is already pretty late. We were told we would receive a call with the lock box code starting at 3. No call, so I call and am told some story about an emergency and an alternate cleaning crew was called in. We were told the cabin was not ready, again only because I called. We were told to sit on the porch and wait. While the cleaning crew was perfectly friendly and there were many people working to clean quickly, the unit management fees are far too high to excuse over an hour delay in check in. The cleaning crew blamed the computer for the delay. Supplies are bare bones. No hand soap, no shampoos or conditioners. The deck under the hot tub is grossly under structured. The fee for sanitizing the hot tub after each guest is robbery. The bottom of the hot tub had black mold/mildew. There is no way that thing was cleaned. There is a note saying if the hot tub doesn’t work, there is no refund. My expectations are generally low, but we paid far too much in fees to excuse late check in and poor toiletries and a dirty hot tub. I chose not to waste time during my stay to talk with management. I think it’s more important for future users to know how they operate. No refunds for anything & they can delay your check in with no recourse. The view is beautiful when standing. When you sit down, you can’t see it unless you’re 6ft tall.

This was a wonderful home that we stayed at. everything was perfect and just like the pictures showed. We will be back and very soon. the only thing is that the jacuzzi did not get very hot. The home was very clean and decorated with good taste.The location was alittle tricky especally at night but it was worth waking up high in the mountains. The management copy was just amazing everytime i called to ask a question.Everyone was very nice. Thank you so very much its hard to find nice people in these crazy times.

Great location with great view! Cabin was very clean. Only negative was kitchen. There were plenty of pots and pans but short on silverware. There is no mixer or blender. No full set of measuring cups or measuring spoons. No bowl scraper. I mention these things so if you plan to cook bring these items with you. It didn’t rain while we were there so no issues others mentioned with road to cabin. Enjoyed the hot tub and outside back deck is screened in which was nice. Rental company was very nice and responsive. We locked ourselves out luckily with a phone. They came right away to let us in. The TV in living room makes loud annoying buzzing noise. We only used it to watch a movie on the last night so it wasn’t a deal breaker but may be bigger deal to folks who like to watch TV or movies. All in all is great place to stay. Lots of privacy

The cabin was beautiful and so was the view. The location was close to Helen and other areas. We loved the screened back porch. However, the driveway as you pull into the cabin needs rock to fill deep crevices on either side that could be damaging to a vehicle.

The fridge needs to be replaced as you can't use the doors since the shelves are broken. Could use a few more pillows and blankets as well. Other than those two minor things we loved the cabin.

We enjoyed this cabin so much! Spacious with 3 separate bedrooms and 3 separate bathrooms. Nice kitchen and amazing screened in back porch with stellar view! It fit our family’s needs perfectly. Close to Helen, GA so we were able to visit the shops and restaurants easily. We tubed on tbe river and hiked trails nearby in the mountains. We had a wonderful vacation.

Exceptionally clean cabin; the beds were very comfortable. The property management company was responsive. From the porch, the view was gorgeous. The big negative was that there was no information about the WiFi password. We checked in on a Sunday & couldn't get the password until the office opened the next day. Definitely a trying road on the drive up (do not turn based on GPS onto Gold Valley Rd; neighbor will scream at you.) Very few utensils in kitchen. Nice hot tub on porch. Extremely comfortable chairs on the porch.

The cabin was clean, neat and comfortable. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every moment. I wanted this to be a real vacation without the hurry here, do this, be there, tight schedule routine that usually comes with going on vacation. The Eagles Nest provided just that. With its comforts and spectacular view from the screened in back porch, you almost don't want to leave the cabin. The beds were a little hard and uncomfortable, but let's face it, there is no bed like your bed at home. The Georgia Mountain Rentals staff was very friendly and helpful. I was contacted by phone from a friendly voice to let us know that the cabin was ready for us and contacted the next day just to make sure that we were good. My son's gave me a girl's weekend for Christmas and we took advantage of it in Helen. We were surprised to see how crowded the streets were until we realized there was a Christmas parade this weekend. We had such a good time shopping and eating at the local restaurants. The cabin was quite nice and beyond clean. We used the fireplace and it was so cozy on one very rainy evening. The road getting to the cabin was typical for this type of rental so my car wasn't a happy camper but we survived. The view was spectacular. The only negative I have is the porch chairs weren't very comfortable so we didn't sit outside much. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we are already planning for next year.

From arrival to departure, this stay was amazing. My husband and I were recuperating from surgery and decided to do this high on a mountain top with a beautiful view. We only left the cabin 1 time to go to Betty's General Store - otherwise stayed put. Our view was amazing, the cabin was wonderful. It was peaceful and quiet - a great place to "heal".

We had a group of 6 people. One had just received a diagnosis of breast cancer and we were not sure she would make it. The trip couldn't have been more therapeutic.
She relaxed, had great conversation, enjoyed the sights of Helen, had a great morning of fellowship with the wives and a bonding experience that will surly last a lifetime.
It was a place to forget, waking up to the gorgeous morning sunrise and enjoy some great biscuits and gravy by the orchestrator of this event.
We plan to make this a yearly destination and with God's help, all guests health intact.

The cabin was very peaceful. Kept up very well. I would recommend letting guests know about the one way dirt road to get to the cabin. The GPS directions don’t take you the correct way. Otherwise, the cabin itself was incredible.

This cabin was clean & spacious. Perfect for our weekend vacation, wish we stayed longer. I was not expecting Helen to be so busy in July but it was nice to escape the traffic at this close by cabin. Would 100% book again. Only minor complaint was the hot tub buttons not work properly & the light was out. However, we figured out how to get the temp up & jets running. The bedroom windows not having curtains or blinds was odd too. Email from GMR said they would call between 2-3pm. I never got a call but when I called them they were very nice & let me know the cabin would be ready soon. They called back within the hour and gave us the key code. This cabin has a spacious parking are area and great views!

Wonderful cabin. Bedrooms are roomy and well placed for privacy. Very clean and normal supplies more than adequate. Beautiful view from the very large screened back porch. We spent 75% of our time on the porch. Seating was an issue. My brother brought folding chairs or we would have been taking dining chairs outside and into the living room. A cabin for 6 should have seating for 6 in all common areas.

My husband, three boys and I thoroughly enjoyed our for nights here! Everything we needed was here, the staff was attentive, and the view was spectacular! Very pretty location, convenient to Helen and to some of the vineyards like Yonah and Serenity.
It was steep and gravelly roads to get there, so if you are arriving in wintery conditions make sure your vehicle can handle it.
The accommodations themselves were very nice, and the view was lovely. We did have an issue with the TV in the living room, but we let the staff know and they sent someone out to replace it asap, which we appreciated.

My main recommendation for this place would be to print out and laminate a couple of guides to the home. Our first time using the hot tub was kinda freezing because the controls were so counterintuitive (you had to press the temperature down arrow until it got to the lowest possible temp, and then continuing to push the down button would raise the temperature. The up arrow did nothing... :-) and one or two of the tv's had 3 remotes for one cable box which could create confusion).

All in all a lovely stay.

Our stay at Eagles Nest was beyond amazing. The views were fantastic. The cabin was just as we imagined, clean, in a nice area and a home away from home. The screened in porch came into handy since we had rain the first 2 days but that did not stop us from using the jacuzzi in 34 degree weather. Overall we will be returning. You will not be disappointed with EAGLES NEST.

This was an amazing cabin! Had the most beautiful view of the mountains. Everything was so nice and clean.
A very relaxing place if you just want to get away from everything for a few days. I would definitely recommend this particular one if you want to just sit back and enjoy the mountain life! The road up to the cabin was a pretty bumpy and a little slick from all the rain but paradise awaits at the top for sure.

My family gathered here for a perfect Thanksgiving weekend. The cabin was perfect! Bedrooms were set up to ensure privacy and the main room was large enough for all of us to enjoy. The hot tub was an added plus in the evenings. The last 1.5 mile drive up to the cabin is a bit dicey, but it’s worth it for the view. The road is one problem during the daylight. The only suggestions I would make would be to add WiFi, a bit more silverware and some blinds on the 1 bedroom near the hot tub. Small issues that did not affect our enjoyment at all. Also, the management company is amazing. They immediately responded when we had a bit of a wasp issue on the deck

The cabin needs wifi, kleenex, more dishes, silverware, a notebook with info on how to work certain items such as the hot tub and fireplace. Oterwise, we had a marvelous time and the view was excellent. Maybe some info on worthwhile area attractions. We would recommend the cabin to our friends.

We loved staying at the Eagle's Nest - we had a beautiful sunset on our first night and were able to watch it from the back deck overlooking the mountains, truly an unforgettable experience. The home was lovely, will definitely stay again if we're ever in the area!

The rental company was very helpful in the finding and booking process. They helped me find THE PERFECT place to share my birthday with my husband, 82 yr old mother, and my brother and sister-in-love. Everyone had their own private spaces with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. And the common spaces were very nice. The cabin was everything and more than the pictures showed and the view from the screened back porch was way more than I expected. All in all it was PERFECT, I would definitely stay there again.

This is a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of busy life. Beautiful clean cabin and each of the 3 bedrooms has their own bathroom. Hot tub is out on the back porch ( screened in) where you can look at the beautiful mountain range. They want to make sure you have a great stay. Can’t wait to come back in the fall!!

Cabin is wonderful! Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and it is very private. Cabin is very clean and supplied with everything you may need. Sunrise is beautiful off the back deck. Location is convenient to Helen and wineries. Road up to cabin is a little bumpy but well worth the climb.

What can you say about a lovely time. The cabin was just perfect for three old ladies who have been friends for over 60 years. We each had our own bedroom and bath and that is just perfect for NOT having to share a mirror in the mornings. Everythng we needed or wanted was in the cabin. Personally I could have sat on the screened porch with my coffee in the mornings and my wine at night the entire trip but my girlfriends wanted to SHOP in the town of Helen, so we did.
When we arrived after 8:00 pm, we used the key pad to "try" and get in but it did not work for us. We called the property management and a nice young man offered me several different codes which we tried but none of them worked. He came up to the cabin and opened the door for us with the first code we were given. He noticed we all had "nails" so that was why we couldn't open the box after the code was punched in. Whatever! We are old ladies, we like our hands to still look pretty at least. Thanks though for coming on such short notice and late at night. You were very pleasant on the eye (handsome) and kind and made us feel safe.

Cabin and furnishings were very clean. The cabin was secluded which we really enjoyed, the view was wonderful, as far as you could see there was only one cabin it was probably a mile or more away! The road however was not what we expected, gravel and if you meet a car it got really tight! With that being said, I would rent Eagles Nest again! The view, privacy, will kept cabin will bring me back! The drawback if any will be the road.

Eagles Nest is a great location near Helen. Roads to the cabin are gravel but in good condition. It has a great view from the rear deck and a cozy fireplace in the front room. Kitchen items are minimal but we managed to cook a few simple meals for 6. Enjoyed the hot tub and nearby hiking.

This cabin was perfect for our weekend. It had 3 nice bedrooms with their own bathroom and plenty of room in the living room to hang out, even though we spent almost all of our time out on the beautiful screened in porch. The view is great and plenty of space to hangout and have dinner. The cabin is easy to get to and close to Helen. Overall our stay was excellent. I would highly recommend!

The cabin was perfect for our stay unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with our vacation. Due to torrential rains we left the home a day early but did not receive any credit back. The cabin was clean but we found we needed to wash ALL the dishes we used. The dishes in the cabinets were filthy. The hot tub also had dirt in the bottom. We did not contact the rental agency as nothing we found was too bothersome. I would recommend the property to friends/relatives. Since the weather was not the best we did not get to experience some of the local attractions. We managed to see Helen, hiked Anna Ruby Falls (in the pouring rain), visited the Grist Mill along with Habersham Winery. The trip was not a total bust but would have preferred better weather!

Vacation rental was fantastic! Wonderful views nice screen porch and plenty of room with full bathrooms for each bedroom. The only draw back if you don't have a truck was the gravel roads leading to the cabin. During the spring, summer and early fall months you would probably be ok with a truck, but if you are not use to driving on sometimes steep gravel roads it could be an issue.

It was the best spring break family vacation. The cabin was awesome, clean and in great location. Great things to do with the family such as horse back ride and bucking. We couldn’t ask for anything better.
