Bear Hug

The Bear Hug cabin met all of our expectations. As the 4th or so rental with Georgia Mountain Rentals we knew it would.
A 10 minute drive to town, left it close to all the fun, and just far enough away. It was all clean and upkept. The cozy little cabin had everything we needed to have a great time.
Hot tub was warm and relaxing. The fireplace added so much to our experience we kept it going.
The only thing we wished was different, was the view.. there are 5 or 6 cabins within walking distance from Bear Hug- would that keep us from coming back? No! However more privacy would put this place over the top!

Cabin was great. Staff at GA. Mountain rental were awesome, called to check and see how we were doing the morning after our arrival. Cabin was clean and hot tub was awesome. Enjoyed our long weekend.
Kitchen Tables a little small, but it worked. It was nice hearing the rain pat down on the tin roof just like grandma’s house, only thing is grandmas house didn’t have acorn trees around ���� Would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend GA. Mountain Rentals

The cabin was in an excellent location (close to Helen). It was so peaceful and serene in the wooded backyard. The cabin was very spacious, clean, and the rustic decor gave it such a cozy feeling. The fireplace, jacuzzi, and grill provided lots of activities. Loved it!

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary. We wanted to get away for a few days. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't stand sleeping on the bed here. It was like sleeping on the floor. On top of that, the fans were caked in dust. We have really bad allergies and we couldn't use the ceiling fans at all. The shower drained super slow, leaving you standing in a puddle. Oh and the hot tub kicks on every few hours, which i know is supposed to be routine for the machine, but it shakes the entire cabin. Especially if you're sitting on the couch watching TV or eating dinner in the kitchen. Georgia Mountain Rentals was great to work with and we would love to stay with them again. We will not be returning to Bear Hug though.

Cabin was a perfect! The king size bed was so comfortable! Loved that it is only one story. No steep stairs to struggle up and down. We visit the area often and have stayed in a lot of cabins but this one stole our hearts. Would love to have an exact replica to live in daily. The cabin is the ideal size for two. Looking forward to returning!!

It was a wonderful honeymoon experience.
It was comfortable, clean and quaint.
There was a small problem with the sink and tub not draining, so my husband removed a lot of hair from both. All drained quickly after that.
Potholes in the road need to be repaired.

We rented Bear Hug from Thursday through Sunday. We hopped in the spa almost right away. Later we had a nice fire, as well as the next morning. The cabin had been well cleaned and had a very welcoming atmosphere. With the leaves down, we could see other cabins, but we still felt private. There was very little noise, even from the highway. This is our third stay with Georgia Mountain Rentals. Every stay has been great. We have been treated professionally. It is a great organization, and I highly recommend renting from them.

We stumbled across Bear Hug while looking for somewhere different to vacation. I am so grateful we found it! It is a super cute, super comfortable cabin that is well stocked for an extended stay. The hot tub provided us some much needed unwinding! It was also cleaned very well with plenty of towels provided. They also gave us some starter dish soap, dishwasher pods, a new scrubber, and clean dish towel for the kitchen. It is so much closer to Helen than we thought, and even closer to Anna Ruby Falls. Georgia Mountain Rentals was excellent to work with, stayed in communication before and during our stay, and provided spot-on instructions for finding the cabin. Take our advice and locate the cabin in the daylight, and it will be easy to find afterward. We absolutely recommend this cabin for a couple looking for a cozy getaway.

When I almost got "attacked" by the spiderweb at the front door I was a bit concerned about my stay. But, as everyone knows, those darn spiders will build anywhere they can! They don't care who's getting ready to show up but I swear they knew I was petrified of them and they did that on purpose! After flailing around and nearly having a heart attack from a nearby death experience with the web, I entered the cabin and it was absolutely perfect for our weekend stay! Was comfortable and inviting all around. Enjoyed the quiet!

This is our second time staying at the cabin. Road to the cabin seemed a bit more washed out than last time with more potholes.

Cabin was as expected. Cozy. Great tvs and viewing area in the living room. Bed was extremely comfy.
Did see a big cobweb by the refrigerator. Paying a pretty decent cleaning fee for stuff like that.

Will be staying again. It is our favorite cabin in the area.

Had an awesome stay and it was a beautiful cabin. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. we locked ourselves out of the cabin one night and had to call the overnight number and the gentleman we talked to was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint (more of a comment then a complaint) would be that the access code
for the cabin is a 10 digit number which makes it very hard to remember making it very easy to get locked out. Other then that it was great and will definitely be back! Thanks

Most adorable, cozy & clean little log cabin, perfect for two. The kitchen was fully equipped & spotless. The furniture was very comfortable & cabin decor perfect. The king size bed was amazing. I have neck pain, but slept on this bed like a baby. So comfortable. This cabin has everything you need, including a washer, dryer & iron. Can’t forget the hot tub, we used it every day to relax from our busy days. The staff was wonderful from keeping in touch with us before we left, upon arrival & checking in to see if we needed anything. This is our 2nd trip to GA & we will definitely be coming back. I would highly recommend this log cabin as well as Georgia Mountain rentals.

The cabin was very clean and equipped with what we needed. The only problem we had was the power going off and staying off 12 hours. Cold and no hot water. I realize that was not the rental's problem but we should have gotten a discount for our next visit. We do plan to stay there again.

I stayed during the winter storm. The original cabin I had booked was, according the rental company, not in a location that would be safe for me to travel in and out of with snow and ice. They so graciously relocated me to a different cabin (bear hug). This cabin was perfect. Its close to Helen, and was comfy, clean, and loved the hot tub! The rental company in my opinion did an outstanding job of making sure I was satisfied, comfortable and safe during my stay. I would definitely love to stay here again!

The cabin was cute. Kitchen had only 3 spoons. Exterior could use a good cleaning, back door is green with mold, as is back of house.
GMR was very nice when we locked ourselves out. We could hear dogs barking from the "Pet Spa" across the lane, traffic on the highway and music, car horns, screaming, voices from other cabins.

Bear hug was a a great escape for my wife and I.

The location was nice since it was about ten minutes to downtown and all the shops.

Bed was comfy and clean. Kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils. Property had both a regular coffee maker and a Keurig which was nice.

We enjoyed the fire pit and the smart tvs.

Check in process with the lockbox was easy to use.

We loved this cabin for our weekend getaway! We spent a lot of time in Helen but while we were at the cabin, we loved that the kitchen had everything we needed to cook the food we brought, the fire pit was fun to sit around and make s’mores and the hot tub was relaxing after walking around town all day. We had a wonderful time celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary at Bear Hug cabin!The cabin was perfect. It was very clean & there were decorative birdhouses throughout. The hot tub on the porch was nice for relaxing after we checked out some of the local waterfalls. The location was great, just minutes from Helen & Unicoi State Park where we saw the beautiful Anna Ruby Falls. The property manager called to check on us after we got in & arranged for trash pickup before we left. Everything was great. We would definitely return & hope We can get the rest of our family to join us next trip!

This is such a cute cabin, even though your only minutes outside of town it feels like your a million miles away. It is so peaceful here. The cabin had everything we needed for a anniversary weekend. Although the pictures look like the cabin is secluded by itself there is another cabin directly across from this one. If you don’t want people watching you in the hot tub you gotta close the curtains provided on the porch. Would definitely stay here again. Check in and out was a breeze with the app. I know hot tubs can’t be emptied between each reservation but I would recommend nets to be able to scoop them out. Thanks

Bear hug was amazing, every aspect of it was perfect for our New Years getaway. It seems small in pictures but it’s interior layout and design makes it feel huge inside, beautiful wood all throughout the cabin, every piece of silverware and cookware you could need and even a grill outside, 2 Smart TVs with all the capabilities to watch anything but we just died to stay out and enough to sights and local activities as should you, the bed and pillows felt like a dream, nice and warm sheets and covers 2 nights of our stay we got some rain and the sound of it hitting on the roof is so comforting to me, talk about cozy. The hotub was awesome, it is tucked back of the main roads and tho near other cabins the way they are laid out and the trees around it gives plenty enough seclusion, a 10/10 for our experience and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice mountain get away, very affordable. We definitely plan on coming back!

My Husband and I wanted a romantic getaway near Helen. We came upon this cabin by chance and we were blown away. The booking process was fast and simple. The communication from the property management was great. The cabin itself was perfect. It was clean and cozy and had everything we could have asked for. The hot tub was amazing! We used both the hot tub and the wood burning fire place multiple times a day over our 2 night stay, We were talking about going back before we ever even left. The only recommendation for improvement I would have is that there be a (undivided) loveseat or couch in the living room. The double recliner with a center console made it difficult to cuddle in front of the fire ;) Overall we were extremely satisfied and impressed. We will definitely be returning customers!

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at Bear Hug. Everything was ready when we arrived...hot tub was going and the cabin was super clean. The only distraction was the occasional nut dropping from the roof on the metal roof. It was loud, but only happened occasionally during the night. The bathroom sink drains slowly but other than that everything worked great. Overall, a great experience!

The Bear Hug cabin was authentic, clean and quiet, the management was responsive and kind, the environment outside was beautiful and we did get to see two bears! There are many hiking and shopping opportunities around, as well as waterfalls and lakes. We hope to return again and again.

The cabin was very nice and well appointed. All the furnishings were high quality, and the hot tub was great. I was on a motorcycle trip so I was disappointed that the firewood wasn't supplied. The only grocery store in town was very overpriced but a 15 to 20 minute ride to the next town took care of that. Overall it was a great stay at a reasonable price.

We stayed in Bear Hug cabin and it was wonderful. The cabin was very clean and warm. Nice layout inside and nice porch on the front. Loved the ramp up to the porch and great security light as your parked your car. While I know that it is difficult to maintain roads where there is a lot of cabins in the woods, the path up to the cabin was in bad shape. Some very deep holes to avoid. Other than that, we loved our stay in Bear Hug. Also, we loved Helen GA and without a doubt shall return and hopefully can stay in Bear Hug once more!

Everything from the booking experience to check out was awesome. We try to go to Helen at least once a year, this year it has been twice. It is our Happy place. That being said, we have stayed with several different rental companies. Hands down Georgia Mountain Rentals has been the best!!! The staff was extremely helpful at booking and through out the stay. Bear Hug is this awesome little cabin that is perfect for a couple. Pictures absolutely does not do it justice. Although there are a few cabins around, this was not an issue, we still had the privacy we desired. We usually try to get a cabin with a view, this is not that, but something to be said for the quiet of the woods and the rain in the trees that is very relaxing. That is what we needed most out of this visit. I typically am not one to give 5 star reviews, I feel most things can use improvement, but based on past experiences this company and cabin deserve it!

Very nice cabin Stocked with everything we needed. Cabin felt secluded even with other cabins near by. Road was a dirt road but well packed just needed to drive slow. Overall we loved this cabin, great for a couple. Cabin was cute.

We arrived to find our cabin in absolutely EXCELLENT condition. The cabin was locate in a beautiful wooded area. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I thought bugs would be an issue, however, except for one night after a period of rain, there was none. The bed was very comfortable, all the appliances were in excellent condition, the bathroom was very clean, all the TV’s worked fine, internet service was excellent, the BBQ grill was used and found clean and full of propane and the living room furniture was quite comfortable. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable stay. Johna was a great host and answered all our questions.

Bear Hug Cabin was quiet, clean, comfortable and very cozy. It was a very short drive in to Helen, Georgia where there was great dining and entertainment. We also visited several of the beautiful waterfalls in and around Helen. We enjoyed our stay at Bear Hug and will be renting again from Georgia Mountain Rentals.

We enjoyed our stay in the Bear Hug cabin. The cabin was neat and clean and everything worked. Easy access to the town I guess if I had a negative it would be the proximity of this cabin to the others around it. But it wasn't a game changer.

This cabin was a perfect location for our visit to Helen and the surrounding area. Even tho there were other cabins, they were not extremely close and it was very private and quiet. We found the cabin to be just as described, very comfortable and clean. We would definitely like to come back to the area and to this cabin

We spent three days in November at Bear Hug. The cabin was located within 5 miles of Helen but was quietly tucked away in the woods providing peace and quiet. The property was clean and well-maintained. We were pleasantly surprise at the size of the cabin as it was larger than we anticipated from the photographs. The staff answered all our questions and was very helpful with all aspects of our vacation. We most certainly would stay at Bear Hug again! We absolutely loved our experience.

Helen is always a great place to do weekend vacation .Upon arrival the cabin was in a great location but was very disappointed in the cleanliness. The sheets,towels were still from the last guest I think and the shower curtain was mildewed and bathroom was totally unacceptable but we called office and drove across town to get new sheets and towels. We have rented several times before and never had problem like this but were overall just disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin

The cabin was lovely, comfortable and in a good location. Our issue was the limited amount of towels, 1 dish towel, no condiments and no coffee. Also, no rug at the back door to wipe your feet. Acorns fell on the roof constantly so it sounds like the cabin is under attack. There were no rules near the hot tub as the information claims.

A good place to stay. The location is close enough to Helen that it’s not burdensome going to and coming from town, but far enough away to give an intimate feel. Pictures don’t do this place justice. Would recommend to anyone

This cabin was one of the most nicely appointed cabins we have stayed in. Everything was in excellent condition and very clean. In fact, the only negatives were very minor things: we could have used a cutting board in the kitchen, and it was a little tricky to spot the turn-off to the cabin on the highway. Otherwise, it was 5-stars across the board if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable place in the woods. (It is also a little bigger than it looks in the picture.) Quite close to Helen (less than 10 minutes).

We needed a couple of days away from phones email and work. This cabin was just what the doctor ordered. Spent the whole weekend at the cabin with one trip to eat dinner out at Mully's Grill. Not quite as secluded as some of the other cabins we have rented but secluded enough. All in all a very relaxing and romantic weekend. Mission accomplished.

We came here on our honeymoon and stayed in Bear Hug. It was very clean, quiet,and peaceful. We couldn't have asked for the staff to treat us any better. We will surely be back for another visit in the near future.
