Description Description
The Moody Family for whom Moody Hollow is named built Adanaylah some time in the early to mid 1950. We love the history and natural resources of the Southern Appalachians and that love is reflected in the decor of the cabin. Many of the antiques in the cabin date to the 19th century from the Appalachian regions of Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina. While the cabin may be over half a century old, all the appliances, plumbing, and electric are new. We are now happy to be able to share this magical place with others. Adanaylah is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s).

On the main floor, there is the living room, dining area and kitchen all open to each other with a central gas log fireplace for those winter nights. Two bedrooms are located just off the living room and share the bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Out the back door is the large screened porch with a swing and rocking chair. Beyond the porch is an open-air deck with seating around the table for four. The gas grill is around the corner under the front porch roof.

The third bedroom, a TV for watching movies only and the washer/dryer are all downstairs. Please remember that there is no satellite or cable service at this cabin. The downstairs television has a DVD player and there is a small movie library. You can only watch DVDs on this television! Access to the downstairs is through the screened porch and down the stairs. Be sure to take the key!

Interesting Facts The cabin is perched over 2000 feet above sea level but just up the road is the highest point in Georgia, Brasstown Bald, which rises to 4,784 feet! High Shoals Creek which runs through Moody Hollow has been a source for breeding stock of the indigenous Brook Trout.

Take a walk up the road along the creek until you get to the last gate. You'll come to a small private trailhead. Follow this trail

and it will take you to the beautiful Upper and Lower High Shoals Falls and a spur of the Appalachian Trail. The falls are just a 15

minute walk from the cabin!

Moody Hollow is nestled in the Chattahoochee National Forest which covers over 750,000 acres! The numerous creeks and streams nearby are home to some of the best trout fishing in Georgia as well as one of the greatest number of salamander species on the planet.

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $25 + tax for each additional.

Minimum Age Requirement: Adanaylah is available to families or guests 21 years and older.

Parking: Space is available for 3 vehicles.

Access: The road is dirt and gravel from the entrance of Moody Hollow all the way to the cabin.

Pets: Adanaylah is pet friendly.

Location: 10 miles from Hiawassee and 12 miles from downtown Helen.

In Helen for the Balloon Fest
The cabin is so cozy and comfy! And the fireplace was perfect to take away the night chill. The deck does need some attention, but we were busy enough that we didn’t use it.

Thank you for staying with us. I will let the owner know about the deck.

Our family loved our time here!
Adanaylah was just as shown on the website, and it was a wonderful "travel back in time" experience. We brought our dog with us and he seemed to enjoy himself as well. You can hear the creek running from the screened in back porch and it's very calming. Beds were comfortable and we found everything we needed while there. If you have old enough children, they can have the downstairs to themselves and you can still check on them from the upstairs hallway where there is a grate in the floor to communicate, our kids loved having their own space! Would definitely stay at this cabin again! Georgia Mountain Rentals is the ONLY company we will book with, they truly treat their guests like family and it doesn't go unnoticed.

Our stay at Adanaylah
We had a wonderful week at Adanaylah! This cabin is an older property, which is part of its charm, and it has been well maintained and updated. The decor is tasteful and features many lovely antiques. The kitchen is functional and well-organized with all the needed amenities. The great-room concept is warm and inviting. The bedroom and bath and second family area downstairs allows for great privacy. Our thanks to the owner and the management company for their evident attention to detail in managing and maintaining this great property. We will definitely be back again!

Great stay, but...one significant complaint with the bill
The Adanayla cabin was great. But...I stayed for three nights and almost 40% of the total cost was all overhead & additional fees. So, the cabin ended up being much more expensive. I left the cabin in immaculate condition & I don't feel like I should have been charged $144 for cleaning fees. I ended up doing the dishes, stripping all the sheets, etc. I'm not sure what the cleaning lady did, but it certainly wasn't $144 worth of work. I probably will not rent a property from GMR again just because all of the additional fees & unnecessary charges. Cleaning fees should only be charged for extended stays &/or if the cabin actually needs cleaning after the stay.
Anonymous from Warner Robins - Posted: 2/22/2023
Thanks for your review and the chance to share what is not necessarily obvious. We show you the fees (which are often less than other companies) so you know what the cost is. The cleaning fee includes a housekeeper cleaning prior to your arrival, an inspection, professional laundering to ensure linens are cleaned to an industry standard, the products and staff to do that. You may not make a mess, but you probably appreciate a clean place to stay after a person that does make a mess. You pay for upkeep wherever you go, whether you see it or not. And if they are charging considerably less, I would question how they do it. We take pride in the service we provide and competitive pricing. As for the other fees, there is a damage waiver that protects you and us if any damage occurs. It's like health insurance for rental properties -- when there are accidents or people that don't respect the property. There's also an admin fee that covers credit card transactions, staff, office and fees for software and other technology that makes the work possible. Then there's tax which includes business tax, hotel and motel fees. We hope that helps make things clearer and glad you enjoyed the cabin.

It's was very cold in there need more heater but other then that I had a great time I love how rooming it was and very open
Anonymous from Jonesboro - Posted: 12/29/2022
Thanks for reviewing Adanaylah and the suggestion for another heater. It was an unusually cold weekend for sure -- the coldest in several years! I'm not sure if you used the gas fireplace but that is intended to add to the electric heat there. Come stay again when it is warmer! There are great hiking trails nearby.

Comfy Stay with Quality Touches
Very nice. Attentive management gave accurate directions, and made sure we had everything we needed before and after arrival. Quiet, cozy place with quality cookware and comfortable beds. Nice short hikes to waterfalls. Note: It was cold when we arrived and takes a while to heat the place up, but seems to hold the heat well once warmed. Shampoo is not included and stores are a few miles away so be sure to stop for groceries, etc before arrival.

Very old and rustic
The location was beautiful. It was a little too old and smelly for me. My families allergies really were a mess. Inside was clean outside was awful. Overpriced for the value. It would have been nice to know it was built in 1950.

Christmas get away
Had a wonderful, quiet Christmas vacation. Gas fireplace provided ambiance and warmth. Lack of cell phone service provided peace. Multiple opportunities for walking and hiking right from the cabin. Full kitchen for easy meal prep. Easy access to Hiawassee for groceries.

Amazing experience
We were visiting with family in the area and needed a place to stay. We loved everything about this location. The private drive with the creek and all of the plants and flowers is so lovely! Very comfortable and cool even if it is hot outside. The water from the tap tasted like spring water (which I'm sure that it is) so that was a major bonus! They have a lot of books and games to enjoy. We were out and about a lot with our family but would have been content hanging out at the cabin the whole time. Walk to the falls was pretty easy and was so beautiful. We can not wait to return to the Adanaylah!

Fantastic!
We had a great time in this amazing, rustic, mountain cabin. The entire cabin was clean and had everything we needed. On the description I can't remember if it stated that the downstairs bedroom was sort of isolated from the upstairs portion of the cabin? Either way...that was a huge plus!! The main cabin has 2 bedrooms upstairs. Once out on the huge screen porch, there is a small staircase leading downstairs to the 3rd bedroom, bathroom and family room / sitting area with a couch and tv. My husband and I turned in early but our son likes to stay up late. He was able to go downstairs and watch tv without disturbing us. That was a win, win for us!! Having a washer and dryer was nice since our dog swam everyday in the nearby creek. The creek was perfect for our Labrador. Easy access to multiple swim spots was a 3 minute walk down the road. The cabin was a 5 minute drive to High Shoals Falls and maybe a 7 minute drive to the boat ramp and lake access. There is also a huge deck off to the side of the cabin with a table, chairs and grill. We didn't need it but it sure is nice to have! All-in-all...GREAT STAY!

Our stay was fantastic!
There are only two things I would note, As far as T.V. It is DVD only which is no problem we have plenty we could bring we just did not know and by the time we got there and realized it was to late to go get movies we liked. So I would pre pare for that. Only other thing is the tea tap company might could update the WIFI name and password on the app to match what the info in the Cabin says. Everything was perfect, peaceful, and wonderful will for sure come back!!!

Unwind & unplug in this mystical cabin in the woods.
Perfect cabin getaway to unplug & unwind. The cabin was well appointed with furnishings for your needs.
Our favorite things about the cabin: the screened in back porch with rockers and swing; the rhodendendrons & the waterfall hike.. Sitting in the porch listening to the sound of the stream about 500 ft away decompressed the soul. The rhodendendrons that surrounded the property ware in full bloom (end of June/early July) and gave a mystical aura about the place.
Highly recommend seeking out the waterfalls. The private trail is 10-15 minute east hike; much closer than the public trailhead. There is also a spur to the Appalachian Trail for more adventurous hikers.
I have recommended this to friends looking for a getaway and plan to return again.

Helens Vacation
The rental process was smooth and easy. An improvement can be on the code to get the key. I was txt one code, the app had a different code and I initially couldn't get the box open. I called the number and got a reply 12 hours later. We did get it, the cabin was well equipped and cleaned. We loved it.

Amazing
What a great experience for our first time in the area. We have 3 little boys and was a little worried about entertaining them for entire stay. However, we were so busy hiking and enjoying the area around our cabin we ran out of time. The cabin had enough space for my family of 5 to be very comfortable. We actually could have fit another family in their very comfortable. The cabin was beautiful in every way and extremely comfortable. I look forward to our next visit.
